Get Ready for Spring With DIY Home Improvement Projects
Article submitted by Christina Johnson

Springtime is the time of year when many people look forward to getting out of the house more, breaking free of their winter routine and making time to entertain more often. If you've spent your winter months in semi-hibernation, there might be a few DIY projects you can or need to tackle to get your home and yard ready for the spring season. A comfortable, eye appealing home is more inviting and creates a welcoming atmosphere for you and your guests. These DIY projects are some you can consider as warm weather approaches.

Make Your Backyard an Extension of Your Home
A patio or deck provides you with a place to relax and entertain. Your backyard can become an extension of your home by building a deck or laying a natural stone patio behind your home. Furnish your outdoor area with comfortable chairs, a table, and some plant life to make it feel inviting and welcome. When the weather is nice you'll find yourself spending more time on your deck than you do inside.

Landscaping
If you do nothing else to your home this spring, landscaping can make a huge impact on your home's curb appeal, while making it more inviting. Whether you choose to create a potted garden on your patio or plan an extensive garden plot, adding flowers, trees and vegetation to your yard makes it look more beautiful.

Bring Spring Indoors
By the time spring rolls around, it's likely you've had enough of the old, gray weather. You can liven up your decor and hurry spring along by adding tulips and blossoming bulbs to each room. Swap out the existing pillows on your couch and chairs for new pillows with a spring motif. Replace tired-looking throw rugs with something more colorful. Splashes of color and plant life are a simple way to change your decor.

Clean Your Home Exterior
Whether you power-wash it or clean it with a scrub brush, removing the grime that's accumulated over the winter can instantly improve the look of your home exterior.
By sprucing up your home, inside and out, you can add to the value and breathe new life into your immediate surroundings. At the end of a long workday, you'll enjoy your newly updated surroundings and friends and extended family members will enjoy relaxing and having fun there, too. DIY home improvements don't have to be costly and time-consuming to be effective. This wide range of choices provides you with ideas that suit your home improvement needs and budget.
